Enemies' doctrines include devastating blow as part of 'strategic operations'
WASHINGTON – Warnings from U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano that enemy nations are carrying out cyber attacks on the U.S. are on the rise.
The target? The U.S. electric infrastructure.
Even President Obama has pointed out that “our enemies are also seeking the abilities to sabotage our power grid, our financial institutions and our air traffic control systems.”
But that may not be the worst of it. Those same adversaries – China, Russia, Iran and North Korea – also incorporate in their military doctrine the use of a nuclear electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, attack as “part of a strategic operation that would basically ‘throw the kitchen sink’ at the United States,” according to Cynthia E. Ayers, who once was with the National Security Agency and currently is with the U.S. Army War College.
These countries, she said, will “hit us with everything – computer viruses, sabotage of critical communications nodes, kinetic strikes on key information systems and a nuclear EMP attack.”
“The last, an EMP, is their best chance to collapse our national power grid and take us down, perhaps permanently,” she said.
In recent months, U.S. banks, the Federal Reserve, oil and gas production companies, media outlets and U.S. Defense Department and National Nuclear Security Administration entities have reported what Ayers calls a “massive” number – “in the millions” – of cyber attacks daily
As a former employee of the National Security Agency, she is very familiar with cyber attacks on computers through the Internet and telecommunications systems.

I don’t understand what “legal threats” could be made to silence anybody from warning about the potential for an EMP attack. What lawsuit could somebody file for somebody saying that potential exists - and who would file such a thing?
Time to start making a final decision on alternative off grid electrical backup.
Are you suggesting that the cyber attacks that Panetta and Napolitano are talking about were actually perpetrated by this regime, and they are blaming China etc?
Just want to make sure I understand what you’re saying.
Personally, I don’t put anything past either this regime or their communist and Islamist allies around the globe. When your country’s leadership has been infiltrated (and is led by) enemies, what difference does it make whether it’s being done by Obama and blamed on China, or done by China and blamed on Obama? They’re all the same team anyway, and that’s what America needs to wake up and realize. 2008 was a coup to put in place a regime that is allied with both the communists and the Islamists in their goals of destroying the US and capitalism.
The Iranians are on Obama’s team. They endorsed the foreign enemy combatant (Obama) and they endorsed his unconstitutional nominations such as Chuck Hagel for SecDef. Just like Obama won’t reveal his foreign financers, Hagel wouldn’t reveal his, and I suspect they are at least partly the same people (perhaps as payback for Hagel’s vote-tabulation software flipping votes for Obama in critical precincts to win 2012 and/or 2008). Heck, the puppet-master of Obama is Iranian - Valerie Jarrett, who has said that Congress is no longer any obstacle to this regime. Obama basically gave Iran a functioning drone so they could reverse-engineer it and figure out how our military stuff works. Who knows whether Stuxnet was monkeyed with to allow the same thing - all while looking on the surface as if the regime is trying to hinder Iran.
Again, I don’t trust this foreign enemy combatant in our White House, nor anybody in his regime. They are working in league with America’s 2 major enemies (communists and Islamists).

With little barry bastard boy in power and his regime of oligarchs, there will be no retaliation for destroying America. The oigarchs will merely hie to their bunkers and re-emerge when the mass chaos abates due to stravation and disease. THEN the ramy of the oligarchs, which will be housed with them as ‘protection’ will sweep out to establish the new world order among the pitiful survivors.
