I’m old enough to remember sitting with my grandmother watching the Watergate hearings all summer like it was a soap opera. I remember Woodward back then and found him more respectable somehow than Bernstein, but that’s neither here nor there.

The point is- Woodward is a lib- but not of the sort we see these days, he has a certain kind of independence that is frowned upon by D.C. now. For him to say the kinds of things he’s been saying recently he must be honestly disenchanted by this president and administration and apparently shocked.

This is NOT someone who will fall in line like BO’s other media people. I think for Woodward to have gone public with this indicates he is REALLY worried- not necessarily about himself or his reputation/family etc...but about America. He’s telling us the character of the people running our nation.

I doubt Woodward will give up the name. He now knows that Nixon was a Saint next to this crowd and it has no doubt been made plain that Woodward will either quiet down or everyone he holds near and dear will be destroyed or worse, never mind Woodward himself. Also, none of his liberal friends will help him. They will be part of the burial party.

Love to be a fly on the wall in the white house; this Woodward slapdown is damaging to them and there must be much running about in circles screaming and shouting.

I think it's a big deal because Woodward is a patron saint of leftist journalists. He's they guy who makes it okay to have an agenda, okay to be about "making a difference" rather than just reporting the facts. He took out Nixon!

But now he's saying that Obama is saying things that are unprecedented and outrageous. This is a real slap in the face to the press, who are underplaying it all and even supporting it. It's like Woodward is saying "Reporters can't be only about making a difference, sometimes you have to tell the truth." They may toe the line now, but I'm sure this makes it harder to be totally compliant tools.

Sorry but I disagree. Most of today’s journalists were weaned on Woodward and Bernstein. They were the second coming to liberal professors and I think the dam has broken.
