I’m reading a book called After the Welfare State. I was quite surprised to find out that Italy had a vibrant economy not all that long ago, but traded it for socialism. One would think that they could look back and see what worked and understand where they went wrong.

I guess it’s human nature to want something for nothing. When a country becomes wealthy, people seem to think they are entitled to some of that wealth without working for it.

That’s what happens to ALL countries who trade up for
socialism.
