(UPDATE) A gun-control press conference that had been scheduled for Thursday at noon has been canceled, according to representatives from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
As of Monday, the presser was still on the Brady Campaigns calendar; but on Tuesday afternoon, a public relations rep said it had been canceled. It is unclear why.
The press conference was supposed to include New Yorkers Against Gun Violence and other groups led by moms, to emphasize the broad support the NY SAFE Act enjoys from New Yorkers, according to a news release.
The Brady Campaign had planned to partner with 1199 SEIU, a New York City hospital workers union, to form a counter protest Thursday, but that was also abruptly canceled, <AHREF=”HTTP: pro_gun_law_forces_cancel_showdown_ayCJr7Xaa67v9W4KHvGJOO? local news p www.nypost.comaccording to the New York Post.
