AND NOW THE GOOD NEWS Sequester railroads Biden’s pricey plane travel (gloat)
foxnews.com ^ | 2/28/13 | Jana Winter

The looming sequester is forcing the veep to take the train -- as opposed to military aircraft -- home to Delaware. Biden called it the one thing about the sequester that's working to his "benefit." Biden says he took nearly 8,000 train trips as senator, but the Secret Service made him travel by air because the Amtrak "gives too many opportunities for people to interact with me in a way they wouldn't like to see."

But because of the looming budget cuts, "I was able to say, 'Look guys, I've got to take the train now -- it's cheaper than flying." The plane trips to Delaware cost tens of thousands of dollars each, according to published reports.

"AF2 is grounded for weekend trips starting Friday," one source said, the pricey military plane Biden uses to travel home, often to play golf at Fieldstone Golf Club, a private club. Biden also occasionally flies to Delaware during the week. (NOTE: The veep's plane has been spotted frequently in the Caribbean where his brother has a posh beachfront home).

It didn’t stop the ugly arrogant White House woman from going to Chicago yesterday.

Good ole Uncle Joe. He’s one of us. He rides a train!

Not to worry, they will build him a 500 million dollar car to attach to the train for him and his SS.

Do Joe’s SS handlers carry DB shotguns now?

This one hits Biden hard, hard on his time and hard on his pride.

There is nothing more that Joe must hate than having to hop on a train with the unwashed masses and endure that long journey all the way to Delaware.

He’ll just use one from Pelosi’s private AF executive fleet.

Yeah, that’s lunchbox Joe. That’s the left’s version of regular blue collar kind of guy...

I’ll continue on as a slave to the taxman, knowing my entire career’s contribution to the largess will be a very small fraction of a very small percentage of the total money pissed away on Joe Biden flying around on taxpayer dollars for personal use.

Also, while he’s at the private golf club, Fieldstone, does he stop and give speaches about the eeeevil rich, such as those robber-baron Republicans, not paying their fair share? Does he educate the unenlightened about when Uncle Sam believes we have enough money?

In a polite word, the long term legacy of the current administration will be: incompetence.

Probably not, more likely something like an old cap and ball, perhaps a 51 Colt Navy 36 cal!

Biden moved to Blair House, the V P’s residence. He doesn’t need to go home every weekend! If he does, he should pay for it.

“There is nothing more that Joe must hate than having to hop on a train with the unwashed masses and endure that long journey all the way to Delaware.”

Joe liked the train as a senator. Many of the conductors and trainmen on the New York-to-DC run knew him personally from seeing him each trip.

As vice-president, the Secret Service might require that he have an entire car cordoned off. Easy enough to do on the “regional” NE corridor trains. But if Biden wants to ride the Acela Express, the SS might have to kick everyone out of the first class car for privacy (Acela trains are fixed-length and you can’t add/remove cars).

Some years ago, when Clinton first became president, Hillary decided to take the train between NY and DC one day. No Acela back then, they were all conventional trains. The SS had an extra car put on a set of Metroliner equipment, with a second engine to protect against engine failure. But she rode the regularly-scheduled train.

What Hillary didn’t know was who was _runnin’_ her train. The engineman showed me a pic he kept from some years’ previous — of he and his “uncle Spiro”. Yup — that “Spiro”!

Algore lived in Cheney’s house at the National Observatory, with a fence around it.

Biden doesn't need to travel to Delaware to go home.
The VP is provided with a very posh house on the grounds of the Naval Observatory. His train ride "home" is nothing but propaganda for the media.

Did he contact Al Gore and tell him that planes use too much fuel?
