I know a few full time preachers that refuse to have office hours, counsel or visit people. They take and take from the church and expect to be served. I assume these people are in it because they can get an easy paycheck. I don’t understand why their congregation can’t see it.

Of course when you are truly called by God to be a pastor, it isn’t an easy paycheck at all. There really isn’t enough money in the world to keep us serving as pastors and there isn’t enough money in the world to get us to quit. Why? Because it is about God’s will and not our bank account.

Thank you for your kind words.
I am sure you are a joy to your pastor and his family.
Many Blessings!

It must be the toughest gig on the planet especially if you have such a heart for God, His people and the unsaved. Must get you to weeping at times but never down and out!

I used to run a little youth group - now that will get ya to ya knees! Just that small experience taught me some valuable lessons about how difficult the job is!

Blessings

Mel

“Atheists don’t believe in God. But the Devil does.’’— Bishop Fulton J. Sheen

Satan and his demons know they will eventually end up in the lake of fire, and they tremble. I don't think they really know what a horrible place it will be, because they have not been there yet, but they know it can't be good, and they tremble.

1 Timothy 5:
“17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.”

A pastor is to be paid. His labor at the Word is worth it. The way to test a preacher is to check his teachings.

Acts 17:
“10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.”

If a pastor is teaching what is not in the Scriptures, then he is to be approached by two of the men of the church, and to be reviewed before the entire congregation.

1 Timothy 5:
“19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.”
