Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) this week made another in a series of absurd comments actually claiming that 170 million people would lose their jobs if the budget sequester was enacted.
NBC Tonight Show host Jay Leno actually began his show with Waters’ claim Friday saying that it explains "why we’re in this situation in the first place" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

After the opening theme and credits, Leno walked out onto the stage and said, “Welcome sequestration survivors. Yes!”
“As you know, Congress did not reach an agreement,” he continued, “and Congresswoman Maxine Waters said today that 170 million jobs could be lost because of it.”
For the most part, the White House has been able to fearmonger this issue with cataclysmic predictions that totally defy reason.
As this has been happening, the stock market has approached an all-time high showing absolutely no interest whatsoever in what came out of this budget battle. Traders all around the world were saying that the size of sequestration cuts would have absolutely no impact on the economy whether they went into effect or not.
But the White House was still allowed to issue dire warnings with little pushback from their obedient media.
With this in mind, it’s not just the ignorance of people in Congress such as Waters that has brought us to this point.
It’s the media’s support and dissemination of untruths that not only misinforms the public on key issues facing the nation thereby distorting their opinion on them, but also encourages left-leaning politicians to continue to present falsehoods knowing full well they’ll never be called on them.
It therefore seems impossible at this stage of our nation’s history to imagine a well-informed electorate being governed by honest leaders that have their best interests in mind.
It would be so nice if the GOP would come out of hiding and play up these democrat stupidity and lies. Call them on their bull and don’t be such wimps.
There is an opportunity to showcase the complete ignorance and truth evasion of the democrat party and their messiah zero.

That Maxine keeps getting re-elected says a whole lot about the mental capacity of the voters in her district. Lyndon 'coup-man' Johnson woudl be so proud of the dumbed down dependents he's created in his 'great society' ... if he could stop screaming long enough in Hell to see it.

This is what happens when you vote for someone based solely on the color of their skin. And that is not a racist statement. She and Obammy are perfect examples.
Where you Maxine, when these 170 million jobs were being lost? Aren’t you an elected representative who swore to obey the Constitutition?
One would think that to be the case. But since the majority of the GOP are on the Democrat AAA, AA and A teams they don’t want to hurt their chances to make the big leagues of liars, demagogues and deceivers.
This is all very simple. We’ve never gotten into a recovery. Eventually the media will have to admit it. Now they can say republicans’ budget cutting killed it and put us back into a recession.

It is her walking that is amazing. Walking requires balance and coordination.
I am continuously amazed that her brain can sustain the coordination required to maintain her body upright. With the statements that come out of that mouth I am amazed that her brain has the capacity to coordinate chewing gum with her eyes open let alone walk!
