President Obama’s real agenda
Politico ^ | March 3, 2013 | DOUGLAS E. SCHOEN and PATRICK H. CADDELL

Posted on 03/03/2013 10:14:34 AM PST by what's up

Federal prosecutors will have to close cases and let criminals go,” President Obama said last week, flanked by uniformed firefighters and law-enforcement officers. “Tens of thousands of parents will have to scramble to find child care for their kids.” He went on: “Border Patrol agents will see their hours reduced. FBI agents will be furloughed.”

Scared yet? In his Saturday radio address, the president made clear who was at fault for this impending Armageddon: “Are Republicans in Congress really willing to let these cuts fall on our kids’ schools and mental health care just to protect tax loopholes for corporate jet owners? Are they really willing to slash military health care and the Border Patrol just because they refuse to eliminate tax breaks for big oil companies?” Continue Reading

The president is obviously going all-out — but not to avoid the $85 billion in spending cuts, known as the sequester, set to kick in on Friday. Obama doesn’t want to make a deal with Republicans. His fear-mongering is part of a concerted plan that extends far beyond the sequester crisis: to obliterate the Republican Party as a viable force in American political life.

His self-righteous rhetoric obscures a bitter truth: Obama is not trying to unite the country. He’s waging a class-based battle for political gain. His goal is to win back the House for Democrats in 2014, giving him a united Congress for his last two years in office and allowing him to pursue the most expansive government in American history.

An unusually tough piece about Obama written by Democrats.

2 Democrats tell it like it is (Caddell and Schoen).

This statement from the article should be reversed: “Two factors fuel his overconfidence: a visionless, disorganized Republican Party, and a docile, shamelessly partisan media.”

Part of the (R)s problem is fighting both the media and Obama. It’s quite difficult to attack/confront Obama when the media is walking point for him.

It is difficult to imagine how any truer words might be uttered...

Caddell has been speaking out against Obama for some time.

But I'm dind of surprised this piece by him and Schoen is as hard-hitting as it is.

This is spot on.

My concern is that the GOP can’t even win the sequester argument when all the facts are on their side.

All they have to do is hammer the point that budgets are still higher this year than last...and there are no cuts...only a slowing a future spending.

Secondly they should point out that the average American salary decreased by 3.8% this year. Therefore it isn’t unreasonable for the govt to slow spending by a measly 1.2%.

Seeing as they either can’t or won’t make these arguments, I don’t see much of a future for the GOP. If they don’t find a backbone or we don’t find a new party soon...we are screwed.

Obamaphones, EBT's, Welfare checks, Section 8 housing, food stamps, and "Obama Money", un-affected.

No different than pissing off the School that has a Levy fail, and the first things cut are bus service, Sports Programs, and any other valued-by-parents service that will inflict pain and inconvienience.

Obamaphone program is a $2 Billion enterprise, and payoff to Lobbyists and black inner-city tribal parasites.

For all of the Republican missteps and myopia, the problem starts at the top, with a president determined to pursue a partisan agenda — the country be damned.

I know Politico is perceived as left leaning, but I've found them to be closer to center than extreme left in most of their articles. This appears to be one that's pretty close to being balanced.

But like a lot of crony capitalism, it’s also a huge profit center for mobile phone providers.
The secret to making an entitlement bulletproof is to have well rewarded “capitalists” benefit from it to fund the lobbyists.

I like Caddell, and I can usually tolerate Schoen. But I think they are short-sighted here. The agenda is much more comprehensive than simply winning the Congress in 2014. That is merely an intermediate goal in the plan to make the US a one-party nation. And a one-party nation it really not much different than your ordinary, garden-variety totalitarian state. I have no doubt that Obama and his puppet-masters believe it is for our own and the global good, but the end of such thinking gets people killed—in the millions.

This President's "agenda"--whatever it is--is intended by "the People's" Constitution to be subject to that Constitution's limits and bounds! An American President's "agenda," first and foremost, should have as its primary goal a strict adherence to and respect for that Constitution as the "supreme law of the land."

The second President of the U. S., John Adams, a signer of the Constitution, in his First Inaugural's closing paragraph, laid out his understanding of the qualifications for the Office of President.

Inaugural Address of President John Adams

- (Excerpted & reformatted final words)

Philadelphia, March 4, 1797

“. . . as something may be expected, the occasion, I hope, will be admitted as an apology if I venture to say that

-  if a preference, upon principle, of a free republican government, formed upon long and serious reflection, after a diligent and impartial inquiry after truth;

- if an attachment to the Constitution of the United States, and a conscientious determination to support it until it shall be altered by the judgments and wishes of the people, expressed in the mode prescribed in it;

-  if a respectful attention to the constitutions of the individual States and a constant caution and delicacy toward the State governments;

-  if an equal and impartial regard to the rights, interest, honor, and happiness of all the States in the Union, without preference or regard to a northern or southern, an eastern or western, position, their various political opinions on unessential points or their personal attachments;

-  if a love of virtuous men of all parties and denominations;

-  if a love of science and letters and a wish to patronize every rational effort to encourage schools, colleges, universities, academies, and every institution for propagating knowledge, virtue, and religion among all classes of the people, not only for their benign influence on the happiness of life in all its stages and classes, and of society in all its forms, but as the only means of preserving our Constitution from its natural enemies, the spirit of sophistry, the spirit of party, the spirit of intrigue, the profligacy of corruption, and the pestilence of foreign influence, which is the angel of destruction to elective governments;

-  if a love of equal laws, of justice, and humanity in the interior administration;

-  if an inclination to improve agriculture, commerce, and manufacturers for necessity, convenience, and defense;

- if a spirit of equity and humanity toward the aboriginal nations of America, and a disposition to meliorate their condition by inclining them to be more friendly to us, and our citizens to be more friendly to them;

-  if an inflexible determination to maintain peace and inviolable faith with all nations, and that system of neutrality and impartiality among the belligerent powers of Europe which has been adopted by this Government and so solemnly sanctioned by both Houses of Congress and applauded by the legislatures of the States and the public opinion, until it shall be otherwise ordained by Congress;

-  if a personal esteem for the French nation, formed in a residence of seven years chiefly among them, and a sincere desire to preserve the friendship which has been so much for the honor and interest of both nations;

- if, while the conscious honor and integrity of the people of America and the internal sentiment of their own power and energies must be preserved, an earnest endeavor to investigate every just cause and remove every colorable pretense of complaint;

- if an intention to pursue by amicable negotiation a reparation for the injuries that have been committed on the commerce of our fellow-citizens by whatever nation, and if success can not be obtained, to lay the facts before the Legislature, that they may consider what further measures the honor and interest of the Government and its constituents demand;

- if a resolution to do justice as far as may depend upon me, at all times and to all nations, and maintain peace, friendship, and benevolence with all the world;

- if an unshaken confidence in the honor, spirit, and resources of the American people, on which I have so often hazarded my all and never been deceived;

- if elevated ideas of the high destinies of this country and of my own duties toward it, founded on a knowledge of the moral principles and intellectual improvements of the people deeply engraven on my mind in early life, and not obscured but exalted by experience and age;

and, with humble reverence, I feel it to be my duty to add, if a veneration for the religion of a people who profess and call themselves Christians, and a fixed resolution to consider a decent respect for Christianity among the best recommendations for the public service, can enable me in any degree to comply with your wishes, it shall be my strenuous endeavor that this sagacious injunction of the two Houses shall not be without effect.

With this great example before me, with the sense and spirit, the  faith and honor, the duty and interest, of the same American people pledged to support the Constitution of the United States, I entertain no doubt of its continuance in all its energy, and my mind is prepared without hesitation to lay myself under the most solemn obligations to support it to the utmost of my power.

And may that Being who is supreme over all, the Patron of Order, the Fountain of Justice, and the Protector in all ages of the world of virtuous liberty, continue His blessing upon this nation and its Government and give it all possible success and duration consistent with the ends of His providence.” - John Adams, First Inaugural

Now what could Obama do,They figured out the Economy is now sinking,how do we cover ourselves from our policies causing this mess,Thank Jack Lew and Obumbo,do a sequester,get it into law over our protestations regardless of what we said about it last year,the Press will cover our ass on that one,then Give a Speech and say this sequester endangers our recovery,so folks when you see all the economic numbers in the coming months,dont blame me,its those Greedy rich Republicans in Congress.The perfect Crime,you have to hand it to this Bunch Folks,Obama knows he cant finish the Destruction or complete his wet dream of Totally transforming the United States of America with a Republican House,His only goal for the Next 2 Years is to demonize the Republican House like they demonized George Bush. The Mid terms is his only hope and he Knows it. If the Republicans just stick to talking about Numbers they are doomed,they just have to Flat go out and attack him as they are Being attacked Their Honor as Patriots and Obamas lack of Patriotism,He is Putting his Socialist agenda ahead of our National security and millions of American Families. That is where he needs to be attacked because that is what he is doing and nothing sends these Facists into a Tizzy more than hitting them between the eyes with the truth,He has admitted right out of his own mouth he does not want the power to make the necessary cuts when the Republican Senators offered him total power to do what he wanted,he refused,he said he would Veto it,he does not want to be in any Position to be tagged with making any decision,he just wants a Club to Batter the rich Republicans,Fight back Dammit,Singling out Groups for demonization is Nazi Like Tactics,say it Republicans or fold up your tent
