EDITORIAL: Why I Favor a Complete Ban on ‘Aquatic Deathtraps’ aka Swimming Pools

Our fearless leader in the White House, President Barack Hussein Obama believes we must do everything in our power to save lives, even if it involves stripping law-abiding citizens of their private property or infringing upon their constitutionally guaranteed rights.

In a gun-control stump speech in Minnesota last month, the president explained why we must be prepared to give up our freedom to save lives.

“No law or set of laws can keep our children completely safe. But if there’s even one thing we can do, if there’s just one life we can save, we’ve got an obligation to try.”

As the founding member of a nonexistent public safety organization called the Citizens Commission to Save Lives, I wholeheartedly agree with the president. It’s time we start saving lives, by any means necessary.

To that end, every year about 3,500 people drown unintentionally in non-boating related incidents, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That equates to about ten deaths per day of which two are children under the age of 14. Looking at the aggregate picture, drowning ranks fifth among the leading causes of unintentional injury death in the U.S.

Our liberal abortion policy already keep children safer by killing them... photo Obama-1.gif before they face the dangerous world where citizens are allow gun ownership.

If not for those evil Republicans, we could abort all children... photo Nancy-Pelosi-1L.gif and just adopt all those excess Chinese babies.

Since the evil GOP denies us that and to prevent Crib Death on those children not aborted, we propose sweeping legislation... photo Harry-Reid-5L.gif to outlaw sleep.

And you four idiots have to ask... photo Bob-Beckel-1.gif why I am a Proud Liberal?

The Boston Strangler(great movie with Tony Curtis as the strangler, BTW, can’t remember the exact title)didn’t use firearms either. IIRC, he used stockings or other objects to strangle his victims, hence the name “Boston Strangler”. Kind of a sarcastic comment there.

I've been thinking about how we can get under the left's skin, and I think a "serious" movement to censor Hollywood (for it's own good of course,) only "reasonable restrictions" on things that "most Americans" would find "dangerous" and/or objectionable, like movies glorifying violence, or promiscuity, drugs, or attacking Christianity, for example.

In short, the threat of CENSORSHIP of Hollywood, which would drive them absolutely crazy.

If they want my second amendment rights, I want to threaten something they value, like their first amendment rights.

I'm not pro-censorship, just would like to make them go crazy.

BS. You are repeating a government sponsored lie about the dangers of medical care in the US.

And it has a GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!

Speaking of which, in the spirit of the piece, and in view of that line up thread, "where the sun don't shine," the video has a problem. Its attire was quite dangerous. All those melanoma deaths. President Burkha Obama should follow his friends' advice and ban the bikini.

Scarey thought, that I can actually imagine Bloom-borg imposing that on the “collective.” It will come to the point where the only safe place to be will be your personal safety pod. Then, to keep you entertained, they could wire you up 24/7 to a virtual reality game. They could call it, I don’t know, the Matrices or something. Hey, that’s a great idea for a movie. Oh wait ....

So, the DHS has bought 1.2 billion rounds of ammunition in order to save lives?

All potentially dangerous animate objects must also be banned.
We must ban, confiscate and destroy all Jack Russells.
If it saves the life of just one child we’ve got an obligation to try.

“Its attire was quite dangerous” Death by sunburn, it's a bad way to go....

All dried up and shriveled like a dry prune. I'll save them by applying sunscreen all over top to bottom....

For Gods sake we're raising a nation of pansies!

More like Dr Spock, the TV, Social Serpents (or fear thereof), and the schools are. We desperately need to root the Communists out of our children's lives.

I am all for letting a child be a child.

It used to be that the grownups had s.e.x. while the kids went out and climbed trees.

Now, they won't let a kid climb much of anything, but they're trying to teach them (not just sex but) perversion in kindergarten.

Don’t forget, that sunscreen should be applied from a large magazine and, if not by full automatic, by a regularly repeated manual technique.

There is another article I read recently that states the buy was a ‘misintrepretation’ of the purchase orders. I will send you the link when I find it. Until then here is this link to a Gannett article — http://www.courierpostonline.com/viewart/20130215/NEWS05/302140067/Government-bullet-buy-ammo-conspiracy-theorists

Here it is: http://senseofevents.blogspot.com/2013/02/dhs-buying-billions-of-rounds-not-so.html

My wife and I were talking recently about our childhood days and ‘’caps’’. Remember them? I forget the name of the company that made them but they came in a silver and blue box, I think there were like four rolls each with four rolls of caps on it. You put them in your cap pistol ,or like a friend of mine who would very patiently split them open, get as much powder as he could and make small bombs out of them. Can you even buy them anymore? I suppose they’re not even made any more. Good Lord, that’s all you’d need . Some Nervous Nellie would go on about the ‘’danger to our CHILDREN!!!!! I played ‘’Army’’ and “Cowboys and Indians’’ with toy guns, rode a big Schwinn Typhoon bike without a helmet and ate “Sugar Smacks’’ and “Sugar Pops’’ and I’m still kickin’ at 56.What have we turned into?

Have to say I don’t remember them. “Sugar Smacks’’ and “Sugar Pops’’ were a treat in my house. Mom and Dad had seven of us(five boys, two girls), so they had to limit the sugar stuff. Mom(rest her soul) was a ‘’stay at home Mom’’ until her late forties when she went back to school and got a nursing degree and Dad was first a bricklayer and then a construction executive. That was 45-50 years ago. So much different than today. I hardly recognize this country anymore.
