One year after the death of Trayvon Martin, the national news outlets are eager to let us know Sanford, Fla., has begun to heal.
So say the Detroit Free Press, ABC, NBC, PBS, Associated Press and others.
But not so fast.
Just a few miles from the site of Trayvon’s demise, a mob of 12 black people recently was arrested for assaulting Ashley Flournoy, who was six months pregnant. No matter what happens to the rest of Sanford, Flournoy and her child are expected to recover.
Some call it a family feud – and that Flournoy was the aggressor: “The pregnant woman went and hit my cousin-in-law’s daughter, a juvenile, and them two were fighting,” said Harry Roberts to WESH TV news. “They’re telling us aggravated battery on a pregnant woman and we never touched that girl.”
Flournoy and her friends attacked him and threw rocks at his car, said Roberts, one of those arrested.
A public defender for another man said there was no proof that his client knew Flournoy was going to have a baby in three months.
The neighbors tell a different story, involving guns, breaking glass, and a group of men and women beating Flournoy as she lie on the ground.
“And last night to see men and women jumping on a pregnant lady, it’s just out of control, and it’s always something over there,” one neighbor told Bay News Channel 9.
Another reported gun shots. Still others said Flournoy told her attackers she was with child, but they said they did not care, said the sheriff’s report. How many “White Hispanics” (who are actually blacker than Mr. Obama) do we have to railroad and send to prison to make sure that no more “innocent, unarmed 17 year-olds with only Skittles and Arizona Iced Tea” are ever “racially profiled” and “murdered in cold blood” do you suppose?
Wait until after the riots are over in Sanford if Zimmerman is not convicted before talking crap to me about Sanford being healed.
