Man Burns Himself To Death Near French Job Center Thu, 02/14/2013 - 10:17am Get today's manufacturing headlines and news - Sign up now! PARIS -- France's labor ministry says a 43-year-old man died after setting himself on fire outside a job center in the western city of Nantes.

Djamal Chaab, whom authorities believe was unemployed, had informed the job center of his plan to take his own life, but authorities were unable to intervene in time.

In a statement Wednesday, French Labor Minister Michel Sapin called the death a "shocking drama."

Like many countries across Europe, France has seen its unemployment rate rise in recent years as the financial crisis hurt the economy. France's jobless rate is now at its highest level in over a decade, at 10.3 percent, according to the national statistics agency, INSEE.

Part of the job description was “self starter.” Maybe something got lost in translation...

Probably had more to do that the guy was (North?) African, and the authorities “just” didn’t make it in time.

French people are extremely racist towards African immigrants, black and Muslim. Except the socialist politicians, who see them as the ultimate trump card.

Wait....isn’t that how the Democrats operate as well?

That’s one way to get unemployment figures down. Another way is with 2700 tanks and 1.6 billion rounds of ammo.

The SWAT team was on coffee or wine break.

“But monsieur, saving the lives. Eet eez non in my description du job.”

...and from Drudge - "911 dispatcher: 'Is there anybody that's willing to help this lady and not let her die?' Nurse: 'Not at this time'... "

Sigh...we are all French now...

The left is playing with real social dynamite. In Europe the revival of nationalism is likely to be the result of trying to import ‘The camp of the saints’ to game the election numbers. That is likely to produce some very nasty results and bring a rather dramatic end to the Muslim problem in at least France. Here in this country I suspect the people inside the Beltway bubble will eventually go to far with something either about guns or taxes or maybe both and find out what that civil disobedience is not necessarily non-violent.

Oh, that'll never happen here. Drop the negativity, nay-sayers (take us back to the great '80s). [Little irony and sarcasm there. Turn the screws, folks. The pathological, socialist, bipartisan political/regulator class wants to learn some lessons about economics.] Nothing directed at you, robowombat, but to all.

"...and a government staffed with people who seem to be rejects from Monty python;..."

And very few of 'em. Looks good to me! [Friends, avoid buying anything that you don't' really need. Become more self-sufficient, and learn to produce something of value as a hobby for now (unlike the useless political regulators mentioned above.]

Monty Python apparel is in style! It's part of the default process (the answer for small government).
