a lot of the problems with the Rat Run cities is that some of them have become majority black population...and these are not the middle class blacks or the well to do...these are the inner city, welfare depending, uneducated and uneducatable with little work ethic if any....

to be fair, we have an exploding white trash population in this country as well....so far, they are in the smaller cities and the countryside...not the rotting cities...

its culture,people...weak culture and the drugs....those mighty drugs ....

Contrary to what the article says, a piece in the Detroit Free Press last week stated that the EM could NOT abrogate existing labor contracts. This is important. However, the EM can order lay-offs, and since Detroit has about 3x the number of municipal employees per capita, compared to similar sized cities, there will be massive lay-offs. There is nop other option..then they can work on restructuring the existing labor contracts..

The blaming of the Democrats is a red herring designed to avoid having to face horrible, unpleasant truths about those individuals allowed to hold positions of trust and authority. There are such truths.

They will continue to collect handouts from taxpayers and commit crime. They will continue to be recipients of funds from government anti-poverty programs. They will continue to think of themselves as victims and think they are entitled to have other people support them and their children.

Detroit is a huge success for the Democrat Party. It votes about 99% Democrat. It is the reason Michigan has Democrat Senators and votes Democrat in presidential elections. The problem with socialism is that you run out of other peoples money. That is what happened in Detroit. They ran out of other peoples money.

Lots of majority black countries run by blacks are just as corrupt as Detroit - and just as violent and broke. The Governor of Michigan needs to stay out of there until the 'officials' ask for help. Which will have the 12th of never...

And Detroit hasn't 'run out of other people's money'. Not yet. I'll bet every 'program' dems have invented to keep people broken and dependent is ope rating in Detroit - on our dime. And that half the population is collecting 'disability'...

Detroit’s Mayor and everyone else familiar with Detroit’s finances dissagrees with you. It is only massive inflows of money from the State of Michigan and the federal government that keeps Detroit from declaring bankruptcy. If your solution is non-Detroit taxpayers should continue to send good money after bad, it is just making the problem worse.

Detroit politicians want other people to fund their corrupt poiticians and their thieving residents. The governor should say no.
