On Thursday Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) held a full committee meeting to vote on a bipartisan measure that is claimed to curb illegal gun trafficking and purchasing, but is more akin to thought legislation for those purchasing firearms. During that meeting, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) advocated for the removal of veterans rights to keep and bear arms by stating, find a way that veterans who are incapacitated for one reason or another mentally dont have access to this kind of weapon. Pick up her statement around the 42:20 mark.
She then completely lied about the ability of a bump stock, which she called a slide stock, claiming that it altered an AR-15 to go from semi-automatic to fully automatic. It does no such thing. The trigger is reset every time the stock bumps. In fact, you can get the same effect with any semi-automatic firearms by using your thumb and your belt loop. Does the Senator from California want to ban belt loops?
She claims that she is concerned because calls her come into her office as if more gun control is some wild eyed scheme.
It is not, she affirmed, though we all know that is exactly what it is.

Feinstein should not have a senate seat!
Hey, that ought to be good for morale.
It’s not enough that they are feeling the effects of cutbacks, and they are. They are the only ones who are besides the kids on the WH toour schedule.
Feinstein Says PTSD Veterans Who Fought For The Second Amendment Shouldnt Have Guns
Give that woman a gold star!
My wife has PTSD. I told her to get her pistol permit ASAFP.
Travis,
You have such a way with words. Tell it like it is, some need to Read/Hear this a lot more!!!
MOLON LABE
Can we default on our debt to the Chinese and give them San Francisco as payment?
Vets come home, and are offered counseling.
Are you stressed?
Can’t shoot bad guys ROEs. Can’t call then names. Get court marshaled for defending self. Multiple tours. IEDs. Can’t pray in country. Wife and kids at home. Kid suspended for a picture of dad. Obama cutting defense spending. etc.
Again, are you stressed?
If you say no, you are deluded.
If you say yes, you are PTSD.
Either way, no guns for you.
The new catch 223.
Baker act the poor witch, bless her heart.
I agree but let's be honest here. Feinstein doesn't think anyone should own guns, let alone veterans.
If Feinstein could pass a bill today to ban all private possession of firearms, she'd do so in a heartbeat. Gun control has been Dianne Feinstein's personal crusade her entire political career and the people who return her to the Senate every six years are well aware of this.
“...Does the Senator from California want to ban belt loops?...” Only on those that are not democrats.
As she ticks off group after group who shouldn’t - in her opinion - have guns, who wants to bet she never mentions senile elders, particularly those in politics?
Ever read “The Ransom of Red Chief?”
We’d have to throw in two or three trillion in addition.
We will hold, my Brothers, we will hold! We will never forget your love of country.
“Rest easy, sleep well my brothers. Know the line has held, your job is done. Rest easy, sleep well. Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held. Peace, peace, and farewell...”
Christmas poem at Arlington National Cemetery
Someday... I so solemnly hope.. I will wake to breaking news that Dianne Feinstein and George Soros have both been felled and reduced to a vegetative state by massive strokes.
Not really, if they take the deal for Frisco we could give them more Blue State territory until we’re rid of the liberals
@Di-Fi, STFU! “Ma’am”......
Veterans cannot help htem with enforcing gun control laws and by and large they tend to oppose the Democrat endgame anyway. Giving veterans an exemption would be commensurate with arming their opposition. Hence this response.
I am surprised that law enforcement falls for this. Common sense dictates that restricting guns for the people tasked with disarming the rest of us will not work out well. Logically then they will exempt law enforcement until most of their goals are achieved. At that point, law enforcement exemptions will disappear and they will all have to leave their service weapons at the station when their shift is over. You can make book on that. __________________
Imagine how many veterans will no longer seek help, because they will know that a diagnosis of PTSD being placed into their medical record, could close many doors. The stigma alone is not desirable.
Having PTSD does not make you mentally ill.... how you respond to it might.
Many folks suffer from it, never have a public event, never are a danger to themselves or others and know full well they are having difficulties in dealing with the pain of their experience(s). Some folks work through the issues on their own and in time, they learn to deal with it and go on to enjoy a normal life. Some folks need a hand and can be taught how to deal with PTSD.
PTSD, if left unchecked, can intensify mood swings, cause depression, bring on bad dreams, cause insomnia, inability to focus on any one thing, a brain that can’t be shut off and make every day a bad day, but again, those things can be dealt with.
PTSD does not need to be a lifelong condition in ones life. However, if ‘some’ of those suffering from PTSD are cut off and made to hide from society and completely avoid help, something much worse could manifest itself.
I am not a doctor, I am not a mental health professional.. I am simply a guy who lived with this crap, dealt with it and survived it. I no longer suffer from PTSD... now I am just a grumpy old man. ;>)
Our veterans have stood for us, we should stand for and with them.
