Juan Williams Caught in Plagiarism Scandal
NewsBusters ^

Posted on 03/08/2013 5:42:36 PM PST by chessplayer

Lefty Fox News analyst Juan Williams is in hot water after it was discovered that a column he’d written for a political insider publication contained plagiarized material.

According to a report by Salon.com, a Feb. 18 piece that Williams wrote for The Hill newspaper copied almost word-for-word from a study by the far-left Center for American Progress on the subject of immigration and Social Security.

Confronted by Salon, Williams blamed his research assistant, a “young man” who, according to Williams, had submitted the barely altered paragraphs to him for publication in the column:

For the full details of the particular wording, see the Salon link above.

Williams is the second prominent left-of-center journalist to get caught plagiarizing. NewsBusters exposed CNN host Fareed Zakaria for committing plagiarism last August. Like Williams, he also blamed his researcher.

It’s a Black Liberal thing. It’s called “sampling.” Quite legal in the music industry.

It’s no big deal. MLK plagiarized his dissertation and probably all the papers he wrote in graduate school.

Stealing is no big deal anymore.

Exactly. Juan's fellow lefty Doris Kearns-Goodwin got away with it...

Not knowing him, I've had the same thought. There was a period of time when Brit Hume was on Special Report and always correcting Juan that it seemed that Juan had "seen the light" and began espousing more conversative views after not being able to withstand Hume's punching holes in his liberal thought process. Alas, he's swung back the other way.

Forced racial political identification is one of the sadder, sicker things in our society. No excuse for such polarization.

He’ll weather this storm whereas a conservative would get run out on a rail....
Doris Kearns Goodwin, big lib “historian” who the lefty lib press trots out for “historical context” every now and then got caught in a big plagiarism scandal...
Speilberg used her for “Lincoln”....
