Is America in Danger of a Federal Takeover of Our Elections?
The New American ^ | Mar. 8, 2013 | Kurt Hyde

Posted on 03/08/2013 7:30:22 PM PST by EXCH54FE

The Obama administration has appointed a bipartisan presidential commission with the stated purpose of recommending changes in election procedures supposedly to streamline our elections. No fewer than five bills to increase federal control over American elections have been filed in the 113th Congress. Even a cursory review of the five bills already proposed reveals an unconstitutional federal power grab over American elections. If these measures are passed, they would also result in a drastic reduction in the remaining electoral safeguards left in at least some of the states.

The bills submitted so far:

• HR 50 — Streamlined and Improved Methods at Polling Locations and Early Voting Act of 2013 (SIMPLE) submitted by George Miller (D-Calif.).

This bill would force the states to implement early voting.

• HR 280 — Same Day Registration Act of 2013 submitted by Keith Ellison (D-Minn.).

This bill would force the states to implement same-day voter registration.

• HR 281 — Voter Access Protection Act of 2013 submitted by Keith Ellison (D-Minn.).

This bill would repeal all state laws that require photo ID for voting.

• HR 289 — Value Our Time Elections Act of 2013 (VOTE) submitted by James Moran (D-Va.).

This 50-page bill would expand the already unconstitutional Election Assistance Commission (EAC) gradually making it the federal bureaucracy that runs America’s elections.

It would force the states to implement Internet voter registration and even allow digital signatures in voter registrations. It would also mandate that the states implement automatic voter registration, which is dangerously on the path to universal voter registration.

I think America is in danger, PERIOD! On just about everything. We are being stripped of our rights/liberties every day. The camel’s nose is so far under the tent and I don’t see any of us getting too disturbed. We are still too comfortable for our own good. We conservatives are not in the habit of making noise... we are nice people.. but when will we say we’ve had enough? And let Washington and the media know we’ve reached the point where they have to stop this nonsense. They are not reading their email and they are not listening to the phone calls.

Communist B. Hussein Obama has stated that he will fundamentally change America., and with the usual Bipartisan support of Left Wing GOP Elite Pigs McCain and Graham, he just might.

...streamline our elections...

Folks, your votes and my vote for the 2016 elections have already been logged & counted due to the work of this commission on improving elections.

These people have explicitly violated their oaths.

they are deliberately putting forth bills that are in direct conflict to the US Constitution. The Constitution says THE STATES determine how to handle their elections. Not FEDGOV.

They must be called on it, their bills called what they are, and if we had any balls removed from the House.

“Where are the Repubs on all of this?”

If you mean ordinary Republican voters, it was obvious everyone of them at the time that the intent of disallowing voter ID requirement was to allow rampant voter fraud. I can’t understand why there wasn’t an uproar over this.

Of course you know they want the facade of a "fair" election. Even if passed the Repubs won't raise their voices in protest. I can think of only a handful in Congress that uphold their oath to defend the Constitution.

Dig in and hunker down. The S will soon HTF.

From the article: It is incredible to note how many facets of American elections are no longer observable by the public.

It's incredible that the public is not permitted to document what they do observe. I couldn't believe what I saw in November but it would have been illegal for me to shoot video.

I'd like to see my state pass a law that photos and video can be taken inside the polling place as long as no recording of any vote (other than one's own) is made. Fine me if I record someone else's vote. I'm ok with that. But I don't see any way to address problems with poll workers unless it can be recorded for others to see and they know they can be captured on film at any moment.

You are correct. No matter the party they seek to have power and they no longer “REPRESENT” their constituents. They only represent their party.

Why NOT.?.. Voting died Nov 6th 2012..

Voting may have been severally corrupted long before that...
For sure... in several States and even many Locality’s...

Republicans have no problem with massive voter fraud..
Why the mass exodus from that party.. is increasing..

So WHY NOT.?... MAke the voter fraud LEGAL!??...
And illegal aliens .... LEGAL.. Let felons vote as well..

If Americans have too much COWARDICE to revolt.. WHY NOT..

I suggested a guillotine party on the DC mall back in the spring of 09.

My question to the the regime is, Are you going to use drones on a million protesters this time?

The domestic communists never ending attempt to expand the franchise to the lazy and the stupid keeps rolling on

States need to fight back by disenfranchising anyone on welfare as there are currently no ammendments that would prohibit such legislation

There is considerable support for doing it by district.

Presidential electoral vote changes supported by delegates at Michigan Republican Party convention

Delegates at the Republican state convention, however, approved the resolution supporting the change by a 1,370 to 132 vote.

Democrats=Progressives=Socialists=Marxists=Communists.

As I recall, during Viet Nam, the Russians said they would kill us eventually with horror. I’m guessing that’s the PTSD connection to Vets. Bring it, Commies.
