LAKELAND | Former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin was fired up about God and country when she spoke Friday at Southeastern University in Lakeland. And she was dressed for the part.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate visited the Sunshine State at the request of the organizers of the school's seventh annual leadership forum. She was quite a presence on the stage, in a lipstick-red suit and fierce high heels.
Her passionate talk was peppered with such vibrant cries as "Cling to your God, your guns, your Constitution!" and pleas for the next generation to change the country's moral fiber. "That will make our foundation crumble if we choose to ignore it," she said.
Not one to tiptoe around sensitive topics, Palin got right to the point on reasons she said the country is in crisis.
"Today, look around, and don't you wonder sometimes if, as a nation, we have forgotten God altogether? This is a crucial question," she said.
Palin said the school asked her to talk about hope and resilience. She said she would but "not that Washington, D.C., hopey-changey' blah, blah, blah stuff, but real hope."
Mostly, the 49-year-old hammered such topics as the corruption of Washington, D.C. "It's a hotbed of cronyism" and federal spending "The federal government is bloated, corrupt and out-of-control."(continued)

What are "fierce high heels"?
Can’t believe McCain ran as the ‘Republican’ against 0bama. Both SUCK. We know what 0bama is, but McCain has really tanked. It’s really sad how Palin has been demonized and shut down by the 0bama propagandist media.
Washington DC is a fat bloated lazy delusional corrupt rabid homosexual pig that needs to be put down.
The Tower of Babel builders in Sodom need a reckoning.
I say she’s the most exceptional American woman ever. The day she announced on Mark Levin’s show that she would not run for president is one of the darkest days in recent memory for me.
>>Its really sad how Palin has been demonized and shut down by the 0bama propagandist media.<<
And by the RINOs.
“Fierce High Heel”, meaning those that are more extreme than Wookie makes Obama wear?
They are “in your face,” all right. There’s a picture at the link. I like her taste in shoes; it shows what a non-conformist she is, even though she is a faith-filled Christian, stay-at-home mom and a hard-working Alaskan commercial fisherman. What a shame the country let Tina Fey and perky Catty Couric define her.
wow. i live in WHwven. didnt know she was coming to town. she is one of the few freedom fighters left.
That, and news of Andrew Breitbart's death. Those one-two blows hurt the Conservative movement badly this past election.
Dag gone dawn, her shoes are fierce! Now I have to get those =).
Same here. Still don't understand it. She was the only conservative who could have raised more funds than Romney.
Concur wholeheartedly with her and I wouldn’t mind clinging to her for a few either but I digress.
I absolutely adore Sarah and recognized early on she is indeed Reagan-2...and what America needs to survive this communist attack.
The communists also recognized those qualities and declared all out war on her. To the commies, her succeeding was NOT an option and ANY method to stop her was in play.
Like many, her announcement on Levin’s show was absolutely heartbreaking and demoralizing.
I still maintain threats were made against her family and she chose to not run to protect her family.
Threats not unlike Roberts probably received to flip decision on CommieCare.
Threats that were most likely carried out against Breitbart.
I'm in the Amen corner, brother!
She needs to be the next President--not Jeb, Rubio, and any of the other squishes--and I would love to see West as VP.
It is going to take a person of uncommonly strong character to flush out the commies, and to re-establish the Constitution as the rule of law.
The lefties have had their say for fifty years, and we are at the brink of ruin.
Their time is over. Our time has come.
