There have been viable women-run societies before. Like the Navajos. They tend to be peaceful and last a long time.
Didn't the Mohawks have a deliberative body with only women leaders that made all the decisions on important matters - like war? I don't think anyone would even remotely describe the Mohawks as "peaceful", they were one of the most militaristic and brutal Indian nations in North America.

Perhaps “stable” would have been a better word? I didn’t know about the Mohawk women’s council. Interesting.
