Whores or not, what gives the police the right to search them? So she was standing on the street for 30 minutes and spoke with someone. So what? Did the police actually witness her offer sex for money? No they did not.

Even whores deserve to be presumed innocent and treated with respect due all citizens. Get a warrant if there’s probable cause she’s committing a crime.

Are you saying that loitering shouldn’t be considered a crime?

Busting possible hos is likely way safer and easier than trying to bust Obama youts.

Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

Mental Hygiene? Is that a euphemism for Brainwashing?
There really is such a department. I looked it up. No wonder the New Yorkers are so screwed up.

Loitering may be a crime, but what do the contents of her bag have to do with loitering? If the cops catch someone doing something illegal, do they then have the right to search everything you own? Do they also have the right to confiscate anything that may remotely be related to the crime, aka asset forfeiture. The courts say the latter is OK, but it’s clearly unconstitutional. Private property may not be taken for public use (or otherwise) without just compensation. Burden of proof should be on the government, not the citizen.

The world's oldest profession - or so they say. I never understood why prostitution was made illegal. Or the difference between a woman who has sex for a $100 bill or a woman that has sex after being taken to dinner and a movie. Though speaking as a man, I'd rather have the dinner and movie as a prelude as well as some pleasant conversation.

“What about Pole dancers?”

Well, I’ve read that if a woman really wants to dress “sexy” she should leave something to the imagination and in that regard your female Pole dancer seems to have the situation covered.

“1.25 dollars? A buck and a quarter? Grounds for search... tight pants and loitering?”

This sounds bogus.

I thought they couldn’t arrest someone for that without evidence that the person made an offer and negotiated a price.
