I used the words LOYALTY and PATRIOTISM. It would not be a stretch to understand that that was their bottom line.
Would a natural born citizen like Benedict Arnold be in the minds of the framers simply because he qualified for it?

It was, and that’s why they didn’t leave it to chance.
A person born with loyalty to more than one country is already in question as to which country they are most loyal to.
A NBC is born with loyalty to only one country, no other country has a claim to them as being one of their citizens at birth.
Apparently Canada, like the US, makes you a citizen simply by being born in the country, so by all outward appearences he was born with dual loyalties.
