I got “poped out” in 1978 — they had to clean the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel from an excess of smoke.

Will be glad when this is over.

The American media focuses on the demands of the most radical “reformers” in American catholicism - like they are its mainstream voices. There are ~22 million Catholics in the US out of, what, 1.2 billion worldwide. That’s a tiny %. The center of gravity for Catholics voices in the world is not the US and certainly not Europe any longer. I hope we can recognize and celebrate the great changes that are coming to the vatican - if not this time, then surely the next. We Catholics have a chance to set a example for the world. May God bless the conclave and may His will be done.

The church needs also -- and most important of all, according to many -- a pope who will do something (just what isn't apparent), about the pedophilia scandal before it injures more young lives and undermines the church's prestige..

The hypocrisy of the Left never ceases to amaze me.

But when they raise alarm and express concern about the damage that priest do to young children I just about puke with disbelief.

The Left has a fairly large minority that continuously goes on about how children should be free to express their sexuality.

They also have a growing minority that suggests that pedophilia is a normal sexual expression and that children suffer no ill effects from the experience and they tolerate this minority in their midst.

It seems to me that attacking the Catholic Church is what is really important to the Left.

The idea arises quickly on these occasions that the cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church are choosing a chief executive like the president of General Mills or, for that matter, the president of the United States.

Wrong, but thank you for playing.

The papacy's worldly critics make an irrefutable case against carelessness in sex ... while promoting ever more unrestricted sex, including with children. Freep 'em and the burro they rode in on. (Well, they probably had sex with the burro, too.)
