I don’t think the types like the Kennedy family or Nancy Pelosi care anymore. They’re the vangard of secular thought and behavior in the States.

In his writings, Francis wrote, we should commit ourselves to eucharistic coherence, that is, we should be conscious that people cannot receive holy communion and at the same time act or speak against the commandments, in particular when abortions, euthanasia, and other serious crimes against life and family are facilitated. This responsibility applies particularly to legislators, governors, and health professionals. Ping to see how/if he follows through on this.

Don’t all the popes say that though? Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems to me that the (liberal) locals do as they please anyway.

I like this Pope already. I’m not a Catholic but I don’t see him ever backing down on abortion and traditional marriage.

Awesome. And Joe Biden is leading the U.S. delegation to the Inauguration Mass. Can’t wait to see how that goes.

Saying it is one thing. He needs to give the orders to all the bishops around the world to not give Communion to those who are proponents of abortion and euthanasia.

This pope is a Jesuit, but there are some very conservative Jesuits!
The liberal Jesuits have given the Jesuits a very bad name.
At one time, Pope Francis I was the Jesuit Provincial (head of a Jesuit Province). That particular part of his biography comes up because he was accused of not doing enough to free some priests from the military.
One report said that as Jesuit provincial, he did behind the scenes work to free the priests.
This story may be cropping up to slander this Pope...
