I recall initial reports stated he had a 357, not a 38.
They look a lot alike.
Based on the pics I’ve seen it was a crappy Rohm RG revolver, which was made in both .38 Special and .357 Mag. I wouldn’t fire one on a triple dog dare with somebody elses hands.
