Egypt's Islamists warn giving women some rights could destroy society

(Reuters) - Egypt's ruling Muslim Brotherhood warns that a U.N. declaration on women's rights could destroy society by allowing a woman to travel, work and use contraception without her husband's approval and letting her control family spending.

The Islamist movement that backs President Mohamed Mursi gave 10 reasons why Muslim countries should "reject and condemn" the declaration, which the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women is racing to negotiate a consensus deal on by Friday.

The Brotherhood, whose Freedom and Justice Party propelled Mursi to power in June, posted the statement on its website, www.ikhwanweb.com, and the website of the party on Thursday.

Egypt has joined Iran, Russia and the Vatican - dubbed an "unholy alliance" by some diplomats - in threatening to derail the women's rights declaration by objecting to language on sexual, reproductive and gay rights.

Obama must agree with the MB since he supports them. Where is NOW? Where is Sandra Fluke? They should be outraged.

Crickets...

The “women” like Fluke and NOW were shamelessly silent
during gang rapes and crucifixion of Christian women
in Egypt. Just like they were of those persecuted in Iran.
Those in CODE PINK actually worked with Obama to overthrow
Mubarak in the first place.

So, yes, they agree with Obama.

They may be on to something, if Sandra Fluke is an example.

I think it was Rush Limbaugh who said many years ago that the best way to bring down a repressive enemy regime would be to export radical feminism to that country.

These women are by no means radical feminists, but his observation seems to be largely correct.

There was no good reason for the UN to muddy the issue by including homo poop games in the subject of rejecting the abuse of women. Go after the islamofilth practice of treating women as property and leave the homo crap to fester on its own.

That should bring the Ruskies and church back on board.

The homo agenda has inserted itself into every “rights” campaign there is, from education to women’s rights. Eventually the muzzies will go along with them, too.

"The Brotherhood, whose Freedom and Justice Party..."

Has there ever been such a misnamed organization?

And yes, I always wonder where the National Organization Women have been hiding with all the atrocities of the Muslim world occurring on a daily basis. Fluke and such wants free contraceptives, but doesn't say a word about the women of Africa and Middle East being raped, tortured (genital mutilation), honor killings, not to mention having no civil rights. No one does.

Seems only conservatives on boards like this care and are outspoken about the above inhumane acts against women.

What an opportunity for American feminists? Why this outrageous declaration by the Muslim Brotherhood must not stand. Time for an international march. NOW, Code Pink, Pelosi, Boxer. Wasserman and all female Democratic office holders , liberals of all sorts ought to be booking flights and ships and go to the Mideast a Demonstrate, protest and teach those people how to live. Show solidarity with your persecuted sisters. Barbara Walters are you listening girl? Host “The View” from Kabul. Pull out the drones and the troops. Send in the feminist cadres.

Headline:
“Egypt’s Islamists warn giving women some rights could destroy society…”

Looking at the direction that Western Civilization has been going since “liberating” women — downhill on a path to self-destruction — one almost can believe that they have a point….

(And I’m absolutely serious with that comment)

I don’t care about Egypt being destroyed. I do care about the hypocrisy of the left when it comes to muslims, though.

Sorry, gals: I side with the Muzzies on this truth. They will eventually conquer us, because their men are strong and ours have abdicated their strength and their responsibilities as men. All the wishful thinking and feminist propaganda in the world is not going to change the fundamental realities involved here.

A rhetorical question, of course. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea comes to mind, naturally. And yet, while I once thought the communist politburo's and Soro's Non-Governmental Organizations took first place in deceptive naming, the deceived of Islam may actually have them all beat.

After all, those other mass movements were named by people who knew the names they chose were deceptive. These members of the "Thursday Night He-Man Women Haters" are caught in their own deception.

I have posted before that the way to stop Islam is to poison the religion by liberating the women.
This is a step in that direction, but the fundamental Muslims will see it as what it is, a poison pill, and will fight it tooth and nail. - tom
