I have lived in 4 places where rattlesnakes were a problem. So Cal. No Cal. Oregon. N Nevada. Seen dogs & horses bitten by rattlers. Some made it. Some died.
I have never known a ‘squirrel’ to scare a rattlesnake.
Basically, I have never seen anything a rattlesnake was bothered by.
There is one thing but those are quickly being banned. Before long we'll be reduced to garden hoes.
