I am praying for a slap down: rejection.
Me too!
That would be an offense against Christian charity and would make it more difficult for these sinners to repent and return to God.
Pope Francis adheres to orthodox Catholic teaching that abortion is the killing of an unborn child entailing automatic excommunication for all involved. He has denounced same-sex marriage and regards homosexual adoptions as a crime against children.
Excellent suggestion.
Ditto... or for him to say, "I'm not sure what faith you people are following, but it surely isn't Catholicism."
I am praying for a slap down: rejection. From Pope Francis' first speech as pontiff:
Brothers and sisters, I am leaving you. Thank you for your welcome. Pray for me and I will be with you again soon.I think we have a pope that will be direct (quoting Leon Bloy -- "Whoever does not pray to God, prays to the devil -- in his first homily, for instance, was an indicator), and I also liked how he said he was going to "pray to the Madonna" in his first speech as pontiff (leaving off "asking intercessory prayers of"), however, in his brilliance and humility, I don't think he's going to be aggressive per se; stating the Truth will be enough (of an offense all on its own). Isn't he the best? :) Thank you, Jesus, for Pope Francis.
We will see one another soon.
Tomorrow I want to go pray to the Madonna, that she may protect Rome.
Good night and sleep well!
