Jeffrey Holmstead, a partner at the law firm Bracewell & Giuliani who represents several utilities, said the agency is responding to industry’s concerns that even some new natural gas plants would not be able to meet the proposed standard.
“My sense is they realize the path that started down doesn’t work,” said Holmstead, who headed EPA’s air and radiation office under George W. Bush. “This proposal is so completely different from anything they’ve done before they’ve created a problem for themselves.”
The Dims need to get past the mid-term elections in ‘14, and putting more coal states out of business is not prudent. After The First Dictator has all the levers of D.C. power in his grasp, he can shut down every coal mine in the country and see the price of electricity soar, as was his stated goal way back in ‘08.

If he wants to REALLY fight Global Warming, he’ll need to glassify China first...since they are putting out nearly twice as much as us now. Pretty soon we’ll have about as much impact as Belgium.
There are ‘climate rules’?Really? Rules without ANY evidnce that man is responsible for climate change? And we’re allowing this as a nation? QWe’re just allowing peopel in power to make up any lame ‘laws’ they liek regardless of whether there is any actual evidence or not? We truly are lost as a nation if we’re ghoign to keep allowing people in power to extort money from us liek this without due cause!
Just what America needs to scuttle our own energy independece. The EPA should be reduced by 90% and just worry about cleaning up the water supply. If they ever got that right we might have confidence in them.
