Well, if she isn’t just the most adorable little girl! I know you have to be so proud of her! What is her name?

Yes, Ft. Bliss is like a moonscape....I live 250 miles east of there and it’s not much (or any) better here! LOL!

Hope you get back to some pretty country soon! Congrats on your promotion!

Stick around...we have music for you as always on Friday nights! :)

I’ll be posting “Canada Dry” by the Buckinghams tomorrow night when I do March 1967.

"Canada Dry" (that's what my brother called it at the time) by the Buckinghams was getting a lot of airplay over KRLA and Boss Radio KHJ in December, 1966.

“Nowhere Man”—a big hit on the juke boxes in Europe and on European music stations—but the Armed Forces Network wouldn’t play it over their AM stations.

Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield were tired of dealing with Phil Spector, his bad attitude and his personality quirks. Spector sold their contract to MGM Records, and Bill Medley produced this disk in the style of Spector, with the Wrecking Crew musicians in attendance and the team of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil writing. It came in at #45 this week on its way to the Top 10.

I first heard Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels’ version of “Little Latin Lupe Lu” over a British radio station that we picked up on our Blaupunkt car radio while traveling through Rotterdam. I think it was on April 12, 1966. The Kingsmen’s version of the song was a big hit in Southern California in 1964.

The Isley Brothers had a fine, raw R&B sound, which had served them well in the early Sixties and again in the early Seventies. In the mid-Sixties, however, they signed with Motown, and Berry Gordy handed them to the Holland-Dozier-Holland team who tried to whiten their sound. This came in at #42 on its way to the Top 20.

Bob Lind had recorded a disk at MGM Records on their Folkways label that had not done well, despite the presence of several decent tunes. Lind then signed with Liberty Records, and producer Richard Bock, who normally produced jazz, brought in the Wrecking Crew to back Lind on his only hit, which came in at #5 this week.
