It was not all that many years ago that New Orleans east was the place to live. That all started ending in the early 80’s. Then we had Katrina and result was that the filth was spread around even more.

I lived in New Orleans East in the late 60s/early 70s so that I know what it was like then.

I remember a small fresh water lake a couple of miles toward I-10 from my house. That was out toward the five-mile bridge. I do not remember the street or avenue names.
