There are certain people on the right who do very much want to turn the country into a Christian theocracy. They are as much statists as the liberals trying to outlaw candy bars in schools.

A few, of course. But not so many that only nervous nellie liberals and the SPLC should be worried about.

If, as a conservative, you believe that Christian theocracy is an issue -- then you're worried about the wrong end of the Republican spectrum.

Of course. Those people have no real power. The GOP uses them to get votes and drops them like a hot potato after elections. It’s not they who are presently occupying the Oval Office.
