Yup. Booze is sancrosanct. As a 40+ citizen, I’ve seen enough to believe we basically are an alcoholic society. People my age are still pathetically looking for the opportunity to get alcohol, and maybe wasted. As if the epitome of fun and excitement is drunkeness. Many still do, even when their kids are around. It’s ridiculous how immature and childish our society is.

Don’t think so. Compared to pre-Prohibtion, we’re nearly teetotalers. Compared to the early 19th century, we’re stone cold sober.

Personally, I think the prohibition kids drinking alcohol until 21 is responsible. Kids should be introduced to wine and beer at an early age, allowed to say “yuck” and taught that its no big deal.

I’ve come to believe this as well. I had to stop drinking (I was a 1 or 2 beer a night guy before that) to see it but see it I did and I do.

Sure there are people who do drink responsibly in most cases it’s pretty much like Dean Wormer said - fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life.
