Many classical musicians feel that playing other people’s compositions along with 40 other people warrants special consideration.

Most classical musicians are also batcrap insane. Seems that somewhere along the line perspective goes out the window. Especially since many Chinese/Japanese schoolkids play at their level and think themselves normal, not special.

well, the market will tell....if little commotion, little distress, the musicians will get the msg.....its their right to strike for better pay, but it can also be their undoing..

Meanwhile they’ve priced tickets way beyond what most people can afford. So they’re only catering to “the one percent” or so. Pretty selfish especially for artists in a city which prides itself on its advanced socialism. (They do give an annual free concert, I suppose that’s their sop to whatevers left of their “social conscious”.). I say let’s open it up to those super-talented kids !
