I agree with your premise. Problem is because enforcement failed, we have the same problem. The problem also effects business because some commerce depends on the workforce. I will
Wait to see the bill before freaking though.

I’ve come to the conclusion that unless we hear them say ‘deportation’ then these politicians are just lying to us.

“Build the fence’ and ‘Secure the border’ are nothing but junk phrases. The one job none of them will do is deport the millions of foreign nationals who ignore our laws and squat here because they feel like it.

“Enforcement simply fell be the wayside as the years went by. “

Enforcement didn’t fall to the wayside. It was purposely ignored by GHW Bush and Clinton and then actively subverted by the Dubya and Obama.

What is wrong with the laws we already have?

Makes criminals out of people who want to work.

Moreso than border guards, immigration reform needs to be coupled with welfare reform. We've made it more attractive to citizens to sit on their asses and collect checks, and driven people who want to work and create wealth into the black market.

I read somewhere that 41% of Mexicans would like to become Americans. A few years ago I was talking to a Mexican and asked if he could get equal work would he rather go home or stay here. He said he would rather go home. I asked him what he like best about here. He said, “The police are honest.”

What he said was he will go for reform if they get to vote every year for security compliance on the border!! Thus if they are not getting the border secure the immigration agenda would not move forward!!!

That's a gimmick, that is like the debt ceiling

I saw a poll the other day that 50% of Mexicans would like to come to the US. If you think that number is a little low, keep in mind — the other 50% are already here!

Paul also will take on many of the talking points used by conservative opponents of comprehensive reform. For instance, Paul will outright dismiss claims that undocumented immigrants have become a drain on the nation's welfare system, saying "I've never met a new immigrant looking for a free lunch."

We have a lot of them in Dalton, Georgia. When they register their children for school they seek free lunch and breakfast.

All the idiots on here who cheered Paul’s siding with Al Qaeda and CAIR are now finding their Golden Hero selling them out on amnesty.

This guy is to the LEFT of Obama! Thank God he will never be President!

I'd say about 95% of the time the problem people list with immigration is nothing to do with immigration per se, but instead with welfare.

If the 10 million weren't from south of the border, but instead were babies that weren't aborted, would we have a problem with the lack of abortions?

That probably won't change until the next massive wave of refugees starts arriving from Europe.

“I’ve never met a new immigrant looking for a free lunch.”

Come on down to the local DSS office Rand. I’ll show you 100 on any given day.

For most politicians, you are correct. I have as yet to catch Governor Palin in an insincere statement.

I do not believe the country has changed that much since 2006, especially during a Depression.

will need to resign ourselves to permanent minority status

What this liberal kook fails to admit is if we make voting members of the ILLEGAL population in this country they will vote democRAT thus giving Republicans/conservatives "permanent minority status".

This man is as kooky as his dumbass father.

Rand Paul is utterly delusional if he thinks the GOP will win over the "illegal" criminal vote.

They come here mainly for...free stuff.
