Or at least: take them seriously and hold their feet to the fire or else make them admit that they will just say anything at all, with no concern for truth.
I would really like to see Maher eat his words, or perhaps not eat because of his words.
But, I don't think the court is going to uphold this bet. Maher isn't even a journalist -- he's an entertainer. But, it would be interesting to see him admit to the judge that his entire show is an act, just like any movie or TV show.
If nothing else, he'll have to pay his lawyer. Maybe after paying him and all of those income taxes he has been complaining about, he'll be hurting enough to think twice before the next time he opens his mouth.
