Schultz Sub Dyson: 'Wouldn't That Be Great' If Minimum Wage Raised to $22/hr?
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/19/2013 7:56:36 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

New host, same loopy logic. Ed Schultz is gone from his weekday MSNBC slot, but the show's name lives on until Chris Hayes comes onboard next month. Sitting in for Schultz tonight was the never-at-a-loss-for-words Michael Eric Dyson.

Discussing Elizabeth Warren's latest Senate hearing stunt, on the minimum wage, Dyson gushed "wouldn't that be great" if the minimum wage were raised to $22 per hour? Yeah, great . . . if you'd like unemployment to soar into the stratosphere, as lower-skilled workers were priced out of the market. African-Americans would be particularly hard hit.

How totally out of touch are liberals with reality? MSNBC hos thinks it would be “great” if minimum wage raised to $22/hr. Ping to Today show list.

'Wouldn't That Be Great' If Minimum Wage Raised to $22/hr?

No thanks! A four hour wait at the drive up window because Dunkin' Donuts only has one employee running the shop isn't exactly my idea of fun...

Why not $100 per hour? Now that might be a “LIVING” wage, but no jobs will be available. Like all good leftard policies the DEMS/LIBERALS are never to be measured on their success or failure - they can only be measured on the good intentions.

And your average factory worker will make $75 to $100 per hour?

When it comes to the economy, it never ceases to amaze me how much liberals believe in magic. Raise the minimum wage, and, as if by magic, poor people become middle class. Unemployment insurance magically creates wealth and jobs. Borrowing and spending, in the form of a ‘stimulus’ magically creates economic growth. It is obvious from these policies that liberals have no idea how an economy works.

I don’t believe Dyson and Special Ed Schultz are worth 22 bucks an hour for what they do.

Cool! ‘Cause those greedy shop owners have to pony up. They’re rich. Money grows on trees in their backyards.

Obama wants to spark inflation. That is his way out of the 16 trillion debt, is to make a trillion dollars a small sum that any child could repay. Every economic idea the democrats have would have the effect of causing inflation.

Actually I doubt if you would have to wait very long (unless you happen to be in the car right behind my daughter-in-law who can never make up her mind). Entire system could be automated, drive up, look at the screen of what’s available, push some buttons, insert your credit card, your food comes out one slot with your receipt, silverware, napkins, condiments, etc. are available through another slot and away you go.

In some cases would take a whole lot less people to operate than the way it is done now. Of course there would be no more free drink refills and everything would be “have it our way” or hit the highway. The ability to choose to have a hamburger with or without pickles may become a thing of the past.

If $22/hr is good, wouldn’t $2200 be a hundred times better?

Of course, they gotta keep their workers from leaving.

Then next, all the shops & sellers see that everyone has more money to spend, so they raise their prices. Full circle, and the "minimum wage" people are right back where they started - except the momentum for inflation has now been created for everyone to endure.

I’ve got a pile of #57 limestone. Each of those stones is ten times smarter than Warren. And, I’ve got to say, that pile of stones is dumber than average since they’ve been sitting outside all winter and their little brains are frozen.

What’s her excuse?

Actually at least some of the left know what they are doing and are smarter than you think. They realize they can never raise the taxes on the rich enough to cover their spending programs and must raise taxes on the poor. The best way to do that is to raise the minimum wage but not link that rise to changes in the tax code.

So, poor stupid Obama voter thinks he is getting a raise to $40K a year but what happens is the currency inflates to adjust for the increased wage. Then the Obama voter pays income taxes like he was upper middle class.

The net result is a broadening of the tax base and the Democrats play dumb or blame Republicans for making things worse.

The inflation helps the democrats because it lowers the value of the debt they’ve sold overseas.

It is a win win for them in the short term

Let us be honest. Michael Eric Dyson is a functionally illiterate affirmative action campus hothouse mutant, who couldn't tie his own shoes without a government grant.

if $22 is great, then $50 would be outstanding. why not $50?

let’s be even more generous and round up to an even $100. why not? why can’t we make it $100 an hour?
