Videos are mostly intended to arouse emotions and negate the opportunity for critical thinking. That’s why why fringe political and religious movements rely on them, sometimes exclusively.
I agree. When they will not include a transcript, I assume they do not want any real analysis of the information they are presenting.
There is also the unfortunate fact that a large percentage of our population is unable or unwilling to read or read well. If you wish to communicate with these people, you're more or less stuck with video or audio.
