Your point is well taken and surely agreed to by most of us here. However, the states are already well equipped to regulate runoff and other environmental issues without the heavy hand of the EPA being involved.

Some states may be well equipped, but a vast majority of logging takes place on National Forests, making it a federal, not state, issue.
