As Colorado goes, so goes the nation. With the culture and demographics of the Intermountain West so rapidly changing, this motto about my home state has become conventional wisdom in national electoral politics, and for good reason. After all, the square state is the capital of the so-called Rocky Mountain Empire, a region that is fast becoming the political equivalent of a test market for the whole country. And if it is true that the way Colorado goes is the way the nation as a whole goes, then America better get ready for some extremely large changes.
Part of Colorado’s story of change comes from the statehouse where Democrats control both the governor’s office and both chambers of the Legislature. But as much of the story comes from outside the Capitol, where organic grass-roots uprisings are obliterating old political assumptions.

With VA, OH, FL and CO now reliably voting democrat in presidential elections, it doesn't matter what happens beyond that. The Repubs are already closed out insofar as the White House is concerned. They need to concentrate on governorships and Congressional/Senate races. This isn't defeatist... it's reality.
It is only a matter of time before all states fall.
Lightly populated ones like Utah, Idaho and Wyoming will be in liberal gunsights in the coming rounds.

Yep, the growth of Austin and San Antonio, and the kinds of people they attract, will eventially be the end of Texas as a red state. Hate to say it. I have family there in TexOma.

Alas, I believe it will too. Not in the next few election cycles mind you but I can see it coming.
The upshot: if you see some hippie dopehead scum from California trying to move into your town or neighborhood, do everything in your power to make them not only feel unwelcome, but make their entire lives a holy hell. Force the maggots to go back to the hellholes they made.
