US President Barack Obama lost his first choice of wheels today after one of his hulking armoured limousines broke down in Israel. Images of the limousine being carted away by a tow truck are now circulating on news and social media sites around the world.
The US Secret Service was forced to fly another vehicle in from Jordan where it was waiting for the US leader, who will travel to the neighbouring country on Friday after wrapping up his visit to the Jewish state.
"One of our protective vehicles experienced mechanical problems in Israel earlier today," said Edwin Donovan, a secret service spokesman. "This is why we bring multiple vehicles and a mechanic on all trips," Donovan said, while saying the president's itinerary was not affected by the breakdown, which happened before he arrived in Israel. Some Israeli media reports suggested that the car conked out after it was filled with diesel fuel rather than gasoline, but Donovan said the Secret Service did not yet know what the problem was.

My old ford 350 van that had the 460 v8 in it ran well on diesel. We accidentally filled it up with diesel crossing Montana and only figured it out when we tried to shut the van off at a truck stop and it wouldn’t stop. We even pulled the distributor. We thought it was ghosts but some old crusty trucker clued us in.
Two bad the beast didn’t use that motor. ;)

What, do you suppose does the mechanic for the limo make per hour, and what agency does he work for (secret service i’d wager). Given all that, since the vehicle is a diesel (no other torque to carry that load)... what fuel was put in it.
Can bet it wasnt gasohol or US Navy soy diesel (LOL).
Has there EVER been such incompetence ‘around’ a President? I’m sorry folks but all the little things like this, the flies, snow shutting down global warming conferences...there are WAYYYYY to many things like this to NOT be divine intervention.

Stupid journalists. Early reports had it a gasoline engine with diesel fuel, then a diesel engine with gasoline. Lacking the pluck of old-fashioned reporters, the Journo-listers now just lazily call it “wrong fuel”, which may or may not actually be the case.
