I was laid off in 2009, and the market sucked. I just finished a 3-yr contract, and the market today is much worse. I'm applying all over the US. Even if you're willing to take a big pay cut, employers are reluctant to hire you, for the obvious reason.
It sure feels like a 15% unemployment rate, which is what it really is, when those who have dropped off the unemployment rolls are factored in.
