Many, many and more many cops are willing to throw out the constitution. Most of them have no idea what the constitution says. I heard a chief of police say “Our job is to enforce the laws the legislatures pass.” In other words, “We work for the government, not the people”. I wish someone would have asked him “If the government passes a law confiscating all weapons, would you attempt to enforce that law?”

Bottom line: if it comes to “us” vs “them”, the “them” will include a large majority of the cops.

That is a myth. Perhaps federal law enforcement will side the government. State and local far less likely. I spent 26 years as a city cop. I can tell you that in my experience, particularly in the West and the South, few local law enforcement officers have any love for the feds. In point of fact, my state representative group recently voted unanimously, to direct our lobbyists in D.C. to oppose any gun control measures except those designed to limit the power of the executive. In the state legislature, I only last week put together a position paper on behalf of my two representative groups, supporting a bill designed to nullify any gun control measures issued by the Executive office and to require the State AG or Governor to file suit over the same. No....not all law enforcement stands with the fed....
