Ted Turner’s Son: Liberal CNN Is Hard to Watch (Mostly watches Fox News)

The son of CNN founder Ted Turner says the cable news network his father created is now so liberal it’s difficult to watch — and has seen its ratings plummet as a result.

“They’re pretty much to the left. I don’t think there’s any question about that,’’ Teddy Turner told Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show.’’

“I have a hard time watching them a lot of times.’’

Turner, who this week ran for Congress in South Carolina’s GOP primary and lost, added he’s not impressed at how CNN’s new president Jeff Zucker has tweaked the network.

“They [may have] said, well, let’s give up the fair and balanced and we’ll stay to the left and own that niche,’’ Turner said, invoking competitor Fox News Channel’s slogan.

“I have no idea what their marketing plan is.’’

Turner, who worked off and on at CNN for years, said he had discussions with network brass about its changing political slant, but to no avail.

“[I] said, listen, the left is not the way to go in talk radio or in talk TV because that’s not who’s listening,’’ he said.

Turner noted that he “mostly’’ watches Fox News but “I switch around.’’

Yeh, as soon as he’s elected as a “conservative Republican”, he’ll switch around to what he always was, a RINO/’rat, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. IOW words, his campaign is blowing smoke.

Liberal orthodoxy. If the viewers aren’t watching our newscasts, it’s because we aren’t liberal enough. Now, who can we get to fix our problem? I know! How about another liberal!

There was a time his father was a pretty strong conservative or, at least, a libertarian. But he soon realized that if he was going to be a “player”, he was going to have to toe the liberal line although I think marrying Jane Fonda might have been a bit extreme. I still remember Ted and Jane doing the Tomahawk Chop at Braves games back in the ‘90s...

How 'bout hiring Bill O'Reiley. He's the biggest draw on cable and he's a flaming LIBERAL personified!
