The nationwide shortage of ammunition has left many police departments scrambling to get their hands on the necessary rounds - with some even bartering among each other.
Meanwhile, Rep. Timothy Huelskamp (R-Kansas) says the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has failed to respond to multiple members of Congress asking why DHS bought more than 1.6 billion rounds in the past year.
Police Chief Cameron Arthur of Jenks, Oklahoma says, "Ammunition and assault weapons in general have skyrocketed...In addition to the fact, not only is it a lot more expensive, but the time to get it could be six months to a year, or in some cases even longer."
I then proceeded to tell him...what about the hollow points? He said that was a good question.
I then asked him about the 2700 armored vehicles...and he said...he'd not heard of that.

He did manage to get his hands on some pretty big sheets of lead that someone salvaged out of a building they tore down on post. That and the 5 gal. bucket of wheel weights should keep us going into the next century.

I hope not. It's hard enough getting ammo as it is. Just imagine what it would be like if you racheted up demand even more by having the lamestream report it to the sheeple.
I stood in line for an hour this morning and couldn't get anything but some .22s for plinking. They sold out of 9mm about 6 people ahead of me.

Well, if DHS bought the equivalent numbers of brass, primers, and powder, and have the reloading machines to produce ammunition, then they’ll. have something useful that be fired from a gun.
My firstthought.
I don’t see why this is a problem for PDs....they seldom practice/maybe twice a year.
I say, let them buy their own ammo.

Yes. .40, 45, 9mm, .223, 7.62, etc are out at most retail places. You can find some very expensive hallow point stuff and 7mm and other hunting only rounds. The retailers that have are selling it for nearly double what it was.

Anyone suggesting that union members pay for anything they are used to getting for free is likely to be pulled over and beaten on the way home. Better drive safely.
Given that Congress has the power of the purse, Obama shouldn’t have the funding to be able to equip his own private army imo. So Congress should be impeached as well as Obama concerning this issue.
