Pelosi: “Very Little” Gov’t Left If Spending Cuts are Matched with Debt-Limit Increase

Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said if a debt limit increase is matched with federal spending cuts later this year, there will be “very little” of the “public space” left.

During a Thursday press conference on Capitol Hill, Pelosi was asked about Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) who said any increase in the debt limit when it is met this August should be accompanied with “dollar for dollar” spending cuts.

“Yes, that’s what the Speaker says, and that is certainly in keeping with the anti-government ideologues that are in his caucus,” Pelosi said. “If you keep cutting investments in the future that way in order to do something that should be pro forma here to pass the debt limit, this shouldn’t even be this kind of a debate.” …

I know she lives in her own little Dem world and speaks dem-speak, but she is not even coherent anymore.

"Very little" is still almost four trillion dollars a year. There will be Congressional aides starving in the street at that level of austerity.

The federal budget is $3.7 trillion. Most of these “cuts” will come from the rate of growth. And the result is that we will have “very little government” left. Its not only this old hag — everyone in Washington is living in a complete Fantasyland.

Nancy, come over to my house. It’s a very nice neighborhood with 1 acre yards and professional people all about. Lots of nature and woods and stuff like that. The birds are incredible. We have crows and brown banded owls and even wood thrushes. Paradise. But what’s been bothering me is the birds I thought were hawks turned out to be black vultures. On any day there may be anywhere from 2 to 20 of them drifting above. Are they your friends?

Other wise Nancy Pelosi quotes:

“Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs”

“But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it...”

“I have deep emotions about the American people. If I were to cry for anything, I would cry for them and the policies they are about to face.”

I wonder if Pelosi can name the two evil anti-freedom communists most responsible for our anti-government values. Considering one of them authored ObamaCare and the other signed it into law, that shouldn't be hard even for her.

Look at this list of Federal Agencies and explain to me why we need this much government. I would copy and paste but I might damage JimRobs new server.
Agencies Found 429 https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies

So to Pelosi, the government is the only “public space”.

More focus needs to be put on the DEBT SERVICE rather than just the debt itself and the deficit - not that either of those should be downplayed in importance - but the debt service is one of the huge consequences of high debt. The debt service is going to gobble up more and more of our budget every year if the debt does not cease to grow and start being reduced - which even a deficit of $1 makes worse. The insincerity of the left could be demonstrated by the fact they amounted so much debt that less and less money is available to spend on actual programs and needs and simply goes to the enormous compounding interest from our tens of trillions of debt.

Spain is example of how they are trying to cut spending to stop the downward spiral they are now in due to way too much debt - but the cuts are not able to benefit them to bring down the debt as they get gobbled up by the debt service, and so the downward spiral continues, needed even deeper and more drastic cuts to try to outpace it to reverse the trend.

Remember, to her any single red cent you get to keep in your paycheck is a government expenditure because it wasn’t taken as a tax.

Does anyone make an 'anti-government ideologue' t-shirt?

DELUSIONAL OLD HAG.

Ok, she's really not delusional. She's just putting out what has been an ongoing Dem spin/propaganda point that assumes any cuts will come out of discretionary spending, rather than entitlements.

Under that premise, she's correct (or at least close to correct ...) SocSec/Medicare/Medicaid make up the vast majority of government spending. If those are left untouched, and the cuts come out of discretionary (esp while preserving most of the military/intelligence budget - try to google "Non-Defense Discretionary Spending" ... it's such a widespread term that you'll only get as far as "non-def" before google finishes the string for you) there's going to be very little left over for the government to "spend".

On things like cow fart studies. Or why Lesbians are fat. You know, the things that really matter ...

Cutting back to the levels of spending we had in 2005... just 8 years ago... would balance the budget. Exactly how many new departments since then, Ms Pelosi??
