From Netanyahu's office: "Netanyahu “expressed Israel’s apology to the Turkish people for any mistakes that might have led to the loss of life or injury” aboard the aid ship raided by Israeli commandos in May 2010, his office said in a text message."

That's a far cry from the implication that Bibi apologized for the raid itself.

Netanyahu is the closest man the modern world has to Winston Churchill. He may be the most professional (and patriotic) leader the world currently has. I trust him. And, I think he’ll do whatever he needs to do to protect Israel. He may be held back by threats from Obama, but he’ll manage to get the “job” done one way or another.

I was horrified before reading Bibi’s statement, but the wording is a clever nonapology & sends an unmistakeable message to the Turks, “We’ll be much better prepared for your next time.”

Obama didn’t get the grovelgram he was expecting.
