Obama doesn’t want to accomplish anything except to make the world believe there’s nothing he can do to make peace. His goal is to get to the point where the UN will vote on making Palestinians a permanent member state. Obama would then have the US abstain from the vote, which means it would pass and make it look like he isn’t picking sides.
