There was a case in Oregon about an anchor baby whose mother died. Of course, no clue who the father was. The child went to foster parents who wanted to adopt, had him for years. Then a long lost grandma in Mexico decided she wanted the kid...she’d never seen him or made effort to get him until the state said they’d pay welfare for the kid even in Mexico, and that’s where that American born baby wound up. With our tax dollars in tow.
IIRC it went to court, this couple really fought for him, but judges in Oregon are as screwy as many places and children’s services is worse. That kid will be raised in Mexico, get to vote in our elections down there when he’s 18. And you know how he’ll vote.

Guess they don't have too many liberal wimpy ass judges in Texas...
I remember a Hispanic woman in New Mexico,about fifty two years ago, who tried to potty train her boy by setting him on a hot stove every time he peed his pants.
She was certified as crazy and had her children taken from her FOR A JUST CAUSE.
Some people ARE crazy. I hope the children do alright in foster care. Poor kids.
