DENVER In a bizarre twist, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper confirmed Friday that he is good friends with the father of a parolee suspected in the murder of the states corrections chief, but denied intervening on the sons behalf while he was in prison.
Mr. Hickenlooper said in a statement that he and Jack Ebel, father of now-dead suspect, have been friends for 30 years. While the governor said he was aware that his friends son was in state prison, he said he played no role in how the inmate was treated.

“Colorado governor is friends with father of suspect in prison chiefs slaying”
Yeah, so?
Talk about bad timing for him...
“Jawohl, ich bin ein Hickenlooper!”
he hired the prison chief at the request of the lawyer/father of the murderer so that his son the murderer could better treatment in prison...obviously he was not happy with the services the chief provided....
Hi NEWBIE!! It;s VERY strange....why do you not think so??
Some coincidence, huh?
And the killer was a WHITE SUPREMASIST!!
Since, the Guv. and Dad are Hunting Buddies, he assumed wrongly he would be released on time. No state prison enforces 100% sentences, Evan Ebel obviously was very unhappy with Clements decision.
We haven't heard the last of this story. I'm positive there would never would have been a killing otherwise.
Anyone catch Megan Kelly on American Live listing the coincidences between this murder and the Muslim man in Denver charged with enslaving his housekeeper?
Turns out that he is connected to the Saudi royal family and that the Chief Corrections officer had just been over to the Middle East to discuss things with the royal family.
Colorado had just denied his attempt to serve the rest of his sentence in Saudi Arabia.
The way this murder went down it definitely seems like a hit job.
Looks like the young man had some problems that went back for many years:

video interview with hickenlooper and other info....
Chickenpoop and the murder suspect’s father worked together for a BIG oil company? How ‘bout those DemocRATS?
In this case, I think there is nothing there in regards to Hickenlooper. But, dad was a bit disingenuous in saying prison was ruining his son’s psyche; kiddo was in trouble long before ending up in prison.
Hey, this happens all the time. I can’t count the number of friends I have whose kids go around killing people who work for me...
I’m sure that nobody here thinks Gov. Chickenchoker is a typical crooked dhimmiecrat, do they?
In a bizarre twist, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper...
He's an insult to the good name of the word "bizarre."
OK I got it ..see post 10 above.
Colorado prison chief's death probe extends to Texas police chase
CNN UPDATED: 00:20 AM EDT 03.22.
13Colorado authorities are working to determine whether a high-speed chase Thursday involving a man who shot repeatedly at law enforcement officers in Texas is related to this week's shooting death of Tom Clements, Colorado's prison chief. The chase and crash occurred in north Texas, about 700 miles from where Clements was killed Tuesday night.
It began around 11 a.m. CT (noon ET) in Montague County, where the driver of a black Cadillac shot at a law enforcement officer who had pulled him over in a traffic stop, said Wise County, Texas, Sheriff David Walker. Two bullets struck the Montague County deputy, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, in the chest and another grazed his head before he managed to call in help, said the sheriff. He is in serious condition at a Dallas-Fort Worth area hospital.
This incident was followed by a high-speed chase that ended around 30 miles away in Decatur, Texas. That's where city police tried to pull him over, and the Cadillac's driver fled and started shooting at officers. The suspect shot one patrol vehicle and that of Decatur police Chief Rex Hoskins, whose car was parked in the median."I would say he was running about 100 mph, and he had his left arm out the window and he was just shooting," Hoskins said.
Soon after that, the man turned his Cadillac onto another road and slammed into an 18-wheel truck, according to Walker. Even with the front of his car crushed, the suspect -- who has not been publicly identified -- got out and resumed shooting. He did not shoot any responding officers in the Wise County exchange, but was shot himself. After being kept alive on machines for some time, the suspect died Thursday evening, according to Walker.
Colorado media and national wire services identified the man killed in the Texas chase and shooting as Evan Ebel, a 28-year-old parolee in the Denver metropolitan area.
On Thursday night, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office issued a statement mentioning Evan Spencer Ebel had been named in a Denver Post report citing unnamed federal and state authorities, then sharply criticized such an anonymous disclosure as "disappointing" and saying it "undermines an active investigation and can have a negative impact on any future prosecution."
CNN has not been able to independently confirm the identity of the man killed in Texas. The Cadillac had two different Colorado license plates -- one on the front and the other on the back -- said Hoskins.
A law enforcement official said Thursday that authorities are "are taking a strong look" at whether Thursday's incident and Clements' shooting are linked
