Most likely a bloodbath will follow, before any further resolution of events. The Alawite minority knows its days are numbered under the Islamist elements that run the core of the “opposition”. There may be another surge of Syrian Christians trying to at least maybe get to Christian enclaves in Lebanon as well.

I see nothing in the news about Bashar al-Assad the Syrian leader. There is a report about an assassination attempt against RIAD al-Assad, a rebel leader, though.
