A traditional marriage is performed in a church/synagogue/mosque. What you are proposing diminishes marriage by turning it into a welfare scam.

Yes, you and I see marriage as a religous right. But what about secular idiots who don’t believe in God or deny the Constitutional rights and freedoms that God provides.
Don’t they deserve the rights, freedoms and benefits that marriage provides?
And on the downside - don’t they deserve the grief and agony that happens when you enter into Divorce Court?
Or do you think the State should leave divorce up to the church as well?
