IN:UPDATE: Names Released In Overnight Self-Defense Shooting In Evansville

It happened in the 900 block of line street near the intersection of Powell Avenue and South Governor Street. Detectives tell Eyewitness News they believe Dominique Pollard shot Jamie O'Neil Jones in self-defense.

Jones was shot in the abdomen... We're told he is in critical condition at Deaconess Hospital at this hour.

Investigators questioned eight people in connection with the shooting. Two guns have been recovered.

It really bugs me that local media websites never say what state they are in. For example, in this case, there are eight Evansvilles in the US. There are some 48 “tri-state areas” as well.

Yes, it is exasperating. I had to look a bit before I found this was in Indiana.
